Tonight we had a super yummy dinner, that was pretty healthy, tex-mex turkey burgers. The recipe is based off of a whole bunch of recipes and what we thought would taste good. It’s easy and fast, great for a summer night. One thing I love about summer, barbequing!!! The reason this is a healthier meal is because turkey has a lower amount of fat than beef. Give it a try, you will love it!
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
- 2 teaspoons cumin
- spoonful of salsa
- 1 1/2 pounds ground turkey
- 4 ounces pepper Jack cheese, thinly sliced
- hamburger buns
- 1 avocado, halved, pitted, peeled, and thinly sliced
- Store-bought salsa, for topping (optional)
Directions:
- Mix turkey with chopped cilantro, onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, cumin and salsa together. Form into patties. (We did two “I can’t get my mouth around it” and a baby burger)
- Preheat and clean your grill. Put on your patties and cook until done, (about 155 degrees in the middle) Melt cheese on top and toast buns if you like your buns toasty!
- Top with salsa and sliced avocado, serve and enjoy!
