A Taste of Mexico…

10 May

This past week I finally got to go to a restaurant that I have wanted to go to for a long time, Ahora Mexican Cuisine.

If you have ever been walking along Dalhousie downtown you may have noticed a small Mexican place in a basement, that’s Ahora! What the restaurant may lack in physical size it makes up for in massive flavour and great food!

Ahora has evBurritoerything from nachos to anafres to burritos. (Burritos, I learned Friday night on Throwdown with Bobby Flay, means little donkey!) When I went there I had the Plato Ahora, which had a steak burrito (you got to choose between steak or chicken), black beans, salsa gringa and guacamole, topped wilt salsa Ahora and sour cream. The plate also came with yummy nachos and rice. The whole plate was good but what was really amazing was their rice! It wasn’t your normal white rice, it had tomatoes and spices added to it to make it an explosion of flavour in your mouth!

One of the other really cool things about Ahora is their salsa bar. Here they have a whole bunch of delicious salsas, some are super spicy and some are mild. Salsa

If you are ever looking for some great Mexican food or are just in the market around lunch or supper time you should definitely stop in at Ahora!

My rating! (Out of 5 plate  ‘s)
